The shortcomings of Ben Simmons were out on full display in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. The Philadelphia 76ers looked poised to make a run to the NBA Finals, only for Simmons to put a damper on their chances due to his inability to shoot the ball.
The Atlanta Hawks were able to easily defend Simmons as he refused to look for his shot, leading to a predictable offense for the 76ers. Given his performance in the playoffs, Philadelphia could consider their options with the soon-to-be 25-year-old.
If they believe Joel Embiid and Simmons can coexist still, then they’re operating under the assumption that Simmons finally develops a jump shot that forces defenses to defend him on the perimeter.
On the other hand, they could elect to trade Ben Simmons, and a team like the San Antonio Spurs could be a potential landing spot.

There is a need for the Spurs to land a younger, dynamic talent to build around. DeMar DeRozan is set to become a free agent and is set to be 32-years-old in early-August. With plenty of young players in the fold with recent draft picks, Simmons could be an intriguing cornerstone.
