After a first-round exit due to injuries, the Los Angeles Lakers could be looking for some more big moves in the offseason in hopes of getting back to contending for an NBA title. LeBron James is not getting any younger and he may not have the durability to carry a team to the same degree we are accustomed to seeing him do.
The Lakers came into the year looking to repeat as NBA champions. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis struggled with injuries during the regular season and this forced them to drop to seventh in the Western Conference. They won the first game of the play-in series and earned a series against the Phoenix Suns.
Injury woes continued for the Lakers and they were eliminated after a series that they were favored in. When healthy, the Lakers are arguably the best team in the league and they could continue to improve with a move like this.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are an intriguing trade partner for many teams. They have been in rebuild mode and have been unable to put it all together. Karl-Anthony Towns could be the big name on the move this offseason. He has been in NBA trade rumors for years now but both sides have made it clear that they do not want to split up. This could be for the public.

It seems as though all players on the Timberwolves will be available other than Anthony Edwards, who was the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and named Rookie of the Year.
This is not a blockbuster deal that will shock the league but it will help both sides right away. Here is what the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves could plan during the offseason, per Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz.
