Does this trade make sense for the Boson Celtics?
Kemba Walker was not a fit in Boston since the day he signed his free-agent deal. The Celtics finally sent him away in a trade and now they have to replenish the position. The point-guard position is one that has become the most important in the league and this trade would give Boston a dynamic option.
De’Aaron Fox has raised his game to an All-Star caliber level. It is at the point where he is being wasted in Sacramento because he never has a chance to compete in the postseason. He would be much better suited on a team like the Celtics with more win-now pieces.
The Kings have failed to put players around him and could involve him in a blockbuster. Fox would be the perfect point guard to pair with Tatum. He can pass at a high rate and can score when needed. The ability Fox has to get to the rim would be a massive upgrade for the Celtics.
With as skilled as he is, Fox does not need the ball in his hands to be successful. He would know how to defer to Tatum when need be. There would be real potential for a two-man game on the perimeter with Al Horford as well given his stretch-five attributes and passing ability.

The Eastern Conference is top heavy and Boston was supposed to be near that top. This was not the case this season. The Celtics could return to that top if they get an elite point guard like Fox.
