The NBA trade rumors have finally begun. It was thought that Collin Sexton would be available in a trade this offseason but it was quiet on that front until this week. After the draft lottery, the Cleveland Cavaliers began taking calls about their point guard.
The Cavaliers landed the third pick in the upcoming 2021 NBA Draft. They were able to sneak into the top three and the string of good luck in the draft lottery continued.
Now, Cleveland will have a chance to draft Jalen Suggs, assuming that Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley are the first two players selected. If this is the case, Cleveland will have a chance to add their next franchise point guard at a cheaper price.
Sexton could be looking for a contract extension soon. This is another reason the Cavaliers to look to move him. He’s coming off his best offense of season yet where he led Cleveland with 24.3 points per game.
