Bradley Beal
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I’d be remiss not to list Bradley Beal as a player the Spurs should pursue. If Beal is indeed made available by the Washington Wizards, every team in the league should be calling Washington to make an offer.
It would be a shame for San Antonio not to enter the sweepstakes for Beal just because they don’t believe he’d want to play for them — although it may be true.
That being said, Beal could be looking for an organization that has a solid foundation and a will to compete for a championship. No franchise in the NBA has had a better foundation that the Spurs and Beal has experience with Popovich having spent time around Team USA over the years.
Maybe Beal elects to go to San Antonio in hopes to lure another star with him. In the event that the Spurs want to be aggressive this offseason, they should shoot for the moon and try to land Beal.
