4 potential free agency destinations for Kawhi Leonard if he leaves the Clippers

Kawhi Leonard has been watching the Los Angeles Clippers play idly by in the NBA playoffs while he deals with a knee ailment he suffered in the Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Utah Jazz.

It doesn’t look as if Leonard will be able to return in the team’s current series versus the Phoenix Suns, so technically he could have already played his final game with the Clippers. Leonard has a player option this summer, which means he could choose to opt-out and test free agency.

In no way, shape, or form do I see Leonard leaving Los Angeles — a place he calls home — especially with the Clippers being contenders. And I don’t believe Los Angeles is considering moving on from Leonard anytime soon.

Leonard has been able to watch the Clippers remain competitive in the Western Conference Finals after closing out a tough series over the top-seeded Jazz then at least keeping it competitive with the Suns. Again, it’s unlikely he leaves, but he did depart the Raptors after winning a championship.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith recent surprising take where he suggested that the Clippers should consider parting ways with Leonard has people thinking about where Leonard could play if he decides to walk this offseason.
