Norman Powell
Like Tim Hardaway Jr., Norman Powell is a player that made himself some money down the stretch of the season. Powell was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers during the season from Toronto.
The Raptors moved him for Gary Trent Jr. in hopes of saving money on a contract, but that might not be the case with the way Trent Jr. performed following the trade. Powell is entering NBA free agency and it is unknown if Portland will want to bring him back.
The Trail Blazers have enough to worry about after being unable to advance in the postseason for the fourth time in five years. Damian Lillard could attempt to force his way out and this will be their priority. This could leave Norman Powell on the back burner.
Powell scored 17 points per game while shooting 36% from three-point range as a member of the Blazers. He created a bit of value for himself which will lead to a nice contract but not that of Tim Hardaway Jr.

If the Dallas Mavericks feel like he can be a replacement on the perimeter, they could get it for a discounted price. Norman Powell would not be asked to do too much in an offense with Doncic. Powell would provide that three-point threat that is valuable in today’s NBA. This is a move that would not set the Mavericks back and it would not force them to break the bank.
