Does this trade make sense for the Golden State Warriors?
The Golden State Warriors will be looking to contend right away next season once they get their roster fully healthy. Curry did not have much around in the season and that could be the goal of the front office. We have seen Golden State made some big moves in the past to win championships and we could see that once again.
Stephen Curry played at a legitimate MVP level and did not have enough help in the supporting cast in order to get the job done in the NBA play-in tournament. Klay Thompson will be back in the lineup if all goes as planned and that will undoubtedly help, but making a trade for another dynamic wing threat like OG Anunoby would go a long way.
This is not quite the blockbuster deal that Golden State has made in the past but it would be able to land them some productive players to contribute right away. Anunoby has taken his game to the next level and is intriguing trade target. He is a forward that can step out to shoot from deep, defend top players, and is an underrated passer.
Perhaps most intriguing of all is the versatility the Warriors would be afforded by having OG Anunoby in the mix. Draymond Green can slide over the small ball five spot while Anunoby has more than enough strength to hold down the four. That would be a combo that can truly swarm within the half-court defensively.

The Western Conference is extremely tough and Golden State will add to that next season. It will be interesting to see which moves the front office decides to go with when the time comes.
