TJ Warren – Indiana Pacers

Out of all the guys they could target, TJ Warren would be an absolute home-run acquisition for the Cleveland Cavaliers. While he is entering the final year of his contract, Warren was one of the breakout players in the NBA Bubble last season. 

Unfortunately, his 2020-21 campaign only lasted 4 games due to a foot injury that required surgery and kept him out for the entire year. Moving forward, this injury is not expected to limit TJ Warren in any way long-term, which makes him the perfect addition for Cleveland. 

TJ Warren will be turning 29-years-old in September and over the years with both the Suns and Pacers, he has been getting better and better as a stud on the wing. He can score, he can defend and he can facilitate an offense, which is exactly the kind of player the Cavaliers should want to add to their team. 

All the guys in the Top-5 of the 2021 NBA Draft have All-Star potential, but this is just potential. TJ Warren is a proven guy that could easily be an All-Star should he be able to remain healthy for a full season. He also has the ability to play and guard numerous positions, which is an added bonus for the Cavaliers.

Indiana is in an interesting situation right now as a franchise and they have had numerous players featured in NBA trade rumors ahead of the offseason. TJ Warren’s displeasure for Nate Bjorkgren is no longer an issues, but he’s a name to watch, regardless. After plenty of years of playoff disappointment and with Rick Carlisle coming in to be their head coach again, the Pacers could be heading in a new direction.

With TJ Warren in the final year of his contract, now would be the time to trade him and get the most value out of him, which is why Warren is a guy to keep an eye on this offseason in trade talks.
