Does this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
There have been some disappointing years for the Sixers but this one has to be at the top of the list. They entered the postseason as the No. 1 seed and were eliminated in the second round by an Atlanta team that was a big underdog coming in.
It could be time for Philadelphia to split up their duo and fully commit to building around Embiid. When Morey and Rivers came to the Sixers, they both said that there was no interest in trading either Simmons or Embiid. They saw Embiid put up an MVP-caliber season so he will not be going anywhere.
The same cannot be said about Simmons, especially after the postseason. Simmons’ inability to shoot the ball has been on display for years but now he is just not attempting shots. If he wants to be in a different situation, it would benefit both sides to make a deal.
The Sixers would get two top-15 picks and a chance to add another point guard. Names like Keon Johnson and Davion Mitchell could be on the board at No. 7.

Philadelphia is more than capable of succeeding without Simmons with names like Embiid, Curry, and Tobias Harris. Fans will not forget this season. Simmons will be constantly reminded of it and it is time for a move to be made.
