It did not take long for the NBA trade rumors to begin surrounding Ben Simmons. After a putrid performance in the postseason, the Philadelphia 76ers are going to look for offers on their point guard. The Golden State Warriors have emerged as early contenders to make a deal for Simmons.

The Sixers claimed the top spot in the Eastern Conference during the regular season. They seemed to finally figure out how to construct the roster around Simmons and Joel Embiid. Daryl Morey entered the front office and Doc Rivers took over on the sidelines to lead the way.

Philadelphia put shooters, such as Seth Curry and Danny Green, on the perimeter and this gave the Sixers a dynamic that they have not had in recent years.

Once the postseason came around, Simmons was exposed even further. His inability to shoot the ball was taken to a new level when he attempted just three shots in a seven-game series against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Sixers might be forced to move Simmons in the offseason. The Warriors would be an intriguing landing spot for Simmons. Golden State was not a deep team this season after Stephen Curry. He entered the season healthy and ended up leading the league in scoring.

The Warriors were unable to get to series play after failing to win a game in the play-in portion of the postseason. With Klay Thompson coming back next year, the Warriors will hope to compete for a title once again. They could continue to put players in the rotation to return to the top of the Western Conference.
