Dennis Schroder
Prediction: Signs with the New York Knicks
The NBA rumors surrounding Dennis Schroder have been endless this season as he concluded his first — and possibly last — year with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Schroder was acquired by the Lakers before the 2020-2021 campaign in a trade that sent Danny Green to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The idea behind getting a player like Schroder was to give Los Angeles a third-scoring option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
While he did hold a key role for the Lakers for the majority of the season, he turned down an extension offer from Los Angeles.
There are also reports that Dennis Schroder is seeking upwards of $20 million annually, which could put him out of the Lakers’ price range in NBA free agency.

One team that is seeking a point guard this offseason, and has the money to pay Schroder, is the New York Knicks. New York desperately needs a point guard that can operate alongside Julius Randle and RJ Barrett, and Tom Thibodeau may believe Dennis Schroder is an ideal fit for his vision of what the roster should look like.
