After weeks of speculation, it is official. The Detroit Pistons have hit the lottery and will have the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
The Pistons have not won a playoff game since 2008 and were one of the worst teams in the league this past season. Detroit has been through some rough times but the future could be bright.
Saddiq Bey was named First-Team All-Rookie while Isaiah Stewart was also a selection on the second team. There is some young talent in Detroit and they will have a chance to add another prospect with huge potential.
Cade Cunningham has been at the top of draft boards for months now and the Pistons will have a chance to take him with the first-overall pick. This is where the Pistons could take the next step in their rebuild by adding a future franchise player.

Cunningham was named the Big 12 Freshman and Player of the Year last season. He completely took over for Oklahoma State and solidified himself as the top prospect in the draft.
With the Pistons locking in on Cunningham, there will be plenty of decisions from teams picking after. Oklahoma State will get its first one-and-done star in the draft and this is how the rest of the night on July 29 could play out.
