Does this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
There is a real need for the Sacramento Kings to add a dynamic star alongside De’Aaron Fox. He still shoulders such a heavy burden due to some of the poor recent decisions made by the franchise with prime NBA Draft assets. Making an aggressive trade for a player like Bradley Beal would undoubtedly help to rectify the situation, to an extent.

Buddy Hield is a reliable perimeter shooting threat with some versatility, but he’s nowhere near the all-around impact of Bradley Beal on a half-court offense. Beal is a truly dynamic pick-and-roll ball handler and isolation scorer in addition to being impactful when coming around off-ball screens, receiving handoff, or just generally moving off-the-ball.
Tyrese Haliburton has shown plenty of intriguing flashes of potential and it would not be the easiest of decisions to move him in a trade package. Managing to land one of the NBA’s top scorers in Beal, who averaged 31.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists with legitimate efficiency would be a worthwhile move to make to take the team to a new level.
The Kings would retain Harrison Barnes and have the option of playing him at the four spot to have a fully spaced floor. With his ability knock down pick-and-pop jumpers, get downhill for finishes, and to isolate from the nail, there would be no shortage of actions in the Kings’ half-court offense.
With Bradley Beal and De’Aaron Fox in the backcourt and Barnes at the four, the Kings would become a team that can create mismatches throughout the flow of games and make them pay. Sacramento can also pivot to emphasizing bringing back Richaun Holmes in NBA free agency.
