Whenever a player is mentioned — even vaguely — as a possible trade candidate, there always seems to be one team discussed as a potential landing spot: the Miami Heat. Pat Riley is one of the most aggressive executives in the NBA and he could be even more aggressive to make moves this offseason.

The Heat were a quick out in the first round of the playoffs with the Milwaukee Bucks dispatching them in a mere four games. The Heat still have a dynamic duo in Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, but Riley knows that they need more if they want to return to the NBA Finals.

There are ideal choices like Bradley Beal, Karl-Anthony Towns, and others as prospective trade candidates for the Heat. But if New Orleans is truly considering moving on from Ingram, Miami would be remiss to ignore the possibility of acquiring him.

In the event that the Heat land Ingram, it would present them with a bevy of options on the floor. They could move Butler or Ingram to shooting guard, and it would insert more spacing into an offense that lacked shooting outside of Duncan Robinson. If the Heat are unable to configure moves for their primary targets this summer, Ingram wouldn’t be the worst contingency plan.
