Dennis Schroder
It has been well-documented that the Bulls are going to be a proactive team in NBA free agency, with them seeking out a point guard to pair with LaVine in their backcourt. Lowry and Rose are both free agents, but as of this moment, it’s hard to envision either of them choosing to play in Chicago. A more realistic option for the Bulls this summer would be Dennis Schroder.

Schroder just completed his first year with the Los Angeles Lakers after being acquired in a trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers traded for Schroder in hopes he would become the third option on the team behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
While things panned out for Schroder for the majority of the regular season, Schroder’s performance in the playoffs could lead Los Angeles to go in a different direction, especially with reports of Schroder seeking $20+ million annually in NBA free agency.
The Bulls have been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Schroder all season, and it would make sense for both sides. In all likeliness, Chicago won’t be able to convince a big-name player to join the Bulls, leaving them with limited options at point guard.
Schroder seems to be looking for a nice payday this offseason, and Chicago is a team that could oblige due to the glaring need at the point guard spot. While signing Schroder likely wouldn’t sit well with fans, it’s a realistic outcome this summer.
