Does this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?
The Houston Rockets are in full rebuild mode. They traded away almost every asset on the team and this led them to the worst record in the league. Houston now has to wait for the draft lottery to see if it will have a chance to land Cade Cunningham with the top-overall pick in the draft. Until then, they can sit back and look for trades for some assets still around.

Eric Gordon is at the top of the trade list. It was surprising to see that he was not moved at the NBA trade deadline but we could finally see it this offseason. Wood turned in a strong season for Houston in his first one and he could get another playmaker next to him with Kuzma.
There would not be as much pressure in Houston for Kuzma and this could help with his consistency. Caldwell-Pope is another guard with great experience that could come in and start right away. The front office in Houston has a ton of work to do if they want to get back to competing in any sense of the word.
Cunningham would be a good start. If not, the Rockets should still be in a position to land one of the top players in the draft. The front office will have to build around that player and build a balanced lineup on both ends of the floor.
