Does this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?
It was a disappointing regular season for the Lakers when they saw both LeBron James and Anthony Davis go down with injuries. This made them slip to the seventh seed and had to get through the play-in portion just to get in the series play. Injuries continuing during the postseason and the Lakers were quickly eliminated.

This is not something that LeBron James or the front office is going to deal with. After their championship down the NBA Bubble, it seemed as though the Lakers were interested in building the next great dynasty. That will have to be put on hold another year. Eric Gordon seems to fit into the plan for the Lakers.
They have been adding veterans who are looking to win now. Gordon is also a threat from three-point range, which should interest LeBron James right away. This would give him another option to kick the ball out to when he gets to the basket.
There will be plenty of players available for the Lakers to go away after if they want to be aggressive once again. It will be interesting to see which route they go when the time comes.
