Does this trade make sense for the Boston Celtics?
Once again, Boston is in desperate need of finding a third option outside of Tatum and Brown this summer. The Celtics thought Kemba Walker would be the answer in recent seasons, only for him to look out of place the majority of the time. Walker is also a candidate to be traded this offseason as Boston looks to head in a different direction in hopes to have more success in the playoffs.

From an offensive standpoint, Collin Sexton as a trade target makes a ton of sense for the Celtics. Boston would get someone else that can handle the ball when needed, and Sexton has shown spurts of being able to perform well off-ball, creating space on the floor. In Sexton’s first three seasons, he has converted 38.5 percent of his three-point shots, which is something the Celtics could use.
When it comes to the defensive end, Sexton is going to give maximum effort every possession. That being said, he’s undersized as a guard, regardless of whether or not the Celtics would play him at point guard or shooting guard. Bigger guards and when teams force switches would corner
Sexton into disadvantageous situations in games. Boston would need to decide if they want to sacrifice some of their defense to improve their offense. Unless the Celtics can convince another star to join the roster, Sexton would be a plausible option this offseason.
