Toronto Raptors
In the weeks leading up to the NBA trade deadline this season, the 76ers were rumored as a team that could target Kyle Lowry. Lowry was in a contract year with the Toronto Raptors, and Toronto was a team that was struggling down the stretch. While neither side could work out a deal, Philadelphia could revisit their interest in Lowry this summer. Only this time around, the 76ers would be more willing to include Ben Simmons in the deal to acquire the veteran point guard.

By making a move for Lowry, Philadelphia would prove that they are trying to win now, maximizing their window with Embiid. At 35 years old, Lowry is still capable of being a prominent player for a contending team due to his contributions on both ends of the court. Throughout his career, Lowry has never needed the ball in hands to make his presence felt in a game.
The trade would undoubtedly start with Lowry at the forefront of the deal, with other pieces being moved around. If Philadelphia could net more key contributors in the deal, it may be enough to convince Morey to pull the trigger.
Of course, Lowry is a free agent this summer, which means he would need to be included in a sign-and-trade to make the trade possible. It wouldn’t be the least bit surprising to see Toronto re-open talks with Philadelphia in hopes to get something out of Lowry instead of letting him walk.
