Trae Young has been balling out in his first ever NBA playoff run with the Atlanta Hawks and while they are heavy underdogs against the Philadelphia 76ers, this has not stopped the Hawks from battling hard in this series. After stealing Game 1 on the road in Philly, the Hawks have dropped two straight and faced a tall-task of recapturing momentum in this series by somehow beating the 76ers in Game 4 in Atlanta.
Things did not start off well for the young Hawks, as they trailed 62-49 at the half, but they came out of halftime looking to be aggressive and attacking Philadelphia’s defense. Not only did the Hawks outscore the 76ers 31-20 in the third quarter, but they entered the fourth quarter of Game 4 trailing the 76ers by just two points after being down by as many as 18 points in the first-half.

The fourth quarter of Game 4 was all Atlanta, as they swarmed Joel Embiid every time he touched the ball and attacked Philly’s defense in transition. From Trae Young getting to the basket and scoring to him being able to dish out a total of 18 assists in this game, the young All-Star guard, no pun intended, picked apart the 76ers in the fourth quarter and was a big reason why the Hawks were able to close out the final two minutes of this game on a 9-2 run.
Now, this series is all even at 2-2 heading back to Philadelphia for Game 5. While they may have struggled in Games 2 and 3 of this series, the Hawks rekindled some of the success that they had in Game 1 of this series and as a result, they have the Sixers’ backs up against the wall.
Philly still has home court advantage in this series and should still be the favorites, but there is definitely going to be some concern from the Sixers should their team come out slow in Game 5.
There is a lot to talk about in terms of the Hawks’ Game 4 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, so let’s dive in and take a look at three key takeaways from this game and see what this means for how the rest of the series may turn out.
