Golden State Warriors

At the end of the 2019-2020 season, there was optimism surrounding the Golden State Warriors as they were expecting to get Klay Thompson back in the fold in 2020-2021. Sadly, Thompson would suffer another season-ending injury in the offseason, making it two straight years where the Warriors had to experience life without their second-best player on the floor.

When Thompson went down with another injury, the Warriors were faced with the decision of whether or not they should go all-in to win this season. Besides trading for Kelly Oubre Jr., the Warriors treaded forward with a starting lineup of Stephen Curry, Oubre, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, and James Wiseman.

As a result, the Warriors missed the playoffs for the second consecutive season following a five-year run of making the NBA Finals.

With Thompson expected to return again, the Warriors should do whatever it takes to field a roster that can contend in the Western Conference. Whether it takes parting ways with Wiggins or Wiseman, if Golden State can land a star player that fits what they need, then they shouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger.
