Does this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets?
The Houston Rockets franchise has gotten used to competing in recent years. James Harden was at the top of the franchise for quite some time but a new look for an office decided to go in a different direction. They are clearly and rebuilding mode and that could happen quickly if they land a blockbuster trade like this one.

Christian Wood had a great season for Houston in his first day after signing a free-agent deal, but if you have a chance to land a player like Towns, you do it. Since being taken with the first-overall pick in 2015, Towns has proven that he can score and rebound at a high rate. He is one of the top bigs in the league and there is no sign of decline coming up.
In fact, Karl-Anthony Towns is continuing to improve. Pairing the big man with the likes of either Cade Cunningham or Jalen Suggs would have Houston going in the right direction immediately.
The Rockets have three picks in the upcoming draft and two are likely to be near the bottom of the first round. They could certainly flip these picks into a star that will help them get back to where they want to be.
