This offseason could be detrimental when it comes to the current rebuild of the Houston Rockets. They finished the season with the worst record in the NBA and could turn things around quickly if the front office pushes the right buttons. That includes on draft night and in the trade market.
Houston was expected to be down once they completely clean house. This was certainly the case as they are the favorite to land the first-overall pick in the upcoming draft. When looking at the big board, the first-overall pick is a no-brainer.
The Rockets would land Cade Cunningham if they win the lottery. This would give them their next franchise player to lean on for years to come. As we have seen in the NBA, star players need to team up in order to get to the top.
That is what the Rockets could look to do in a trade such as this one. Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best big men in the league and a player who has been in and out of NBA trade rumors for years now.
The Minnesota Timberwolves could finally decide to pull the trigger and get back a large return for their big man. Heading into the offseason, it seems as though all players in Minnesota, aside from Anthony Edwards, are up for grabs.
This would certainly be a blockbuster deal and would end the Towns’ rumors in Minnesota for good. Let’s take a look at what a potential deal might look like between these two sides from Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz.
