Does this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?
The Charlotte Hornets are paper thin in the frontcourt. Cody Zeller will not be on the team next season. They were aggressive in pursuit of an impact big last offseason and we could see it again this time around. This might not be the deal that many have thought of but Charlotte fans would not complain, especially when they look at what they are giving up.

Issues off the court aside, Kristaps Porzingis is a great talent. When healthy, and this is something that he has struggled with, he is electric. Porzingis can shoot from deep and handle the ball like a guard. On the flip side, his style of play is rare for someone his size and it causes him to miss some time with injuries.
If he was able to stay on the floor for the Hornets, Porzingis would spread the floor and open the lane for their guards to drive to the basket. He is a pick-and-pop threat and can also roll to the basket when needed. This trade would open up a ton of options for the Hornets on the offensive end of the floor.
The Eastern Conference was very top-heavy this season and did not have much after the top three teams. Charlotte knows that they are right there as postseason contenders and this could make the front office work hard in the offseason at acquiring that next great player.
