Is it finally time that the Portland Trail Blazers decide to mix up their dynamic duo? This has been an idea floated in NBA trade rumors for years now but Portland has not pulled the trigger. If the Golden State Warriors come knocking in the offseason, we could see a blockbuster deal that sends CJ McCollum to Golden State.

There’s no denying that CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard have been one of the best backcourts in the NBA for quite some time. Despite their success, the Blazers have been unable to advance in the postseason. They are there every year, and look like they will return once again, but have been unable to come out of a difficult Western Conference.

The league is all about guard play which is why the Trail Blazers have decided to keep their duos together. If they want to mix things up, we can see McCollum be the one sent away. A team like Golden State would welcome McCollum with open arms. This is a franchise that has won championships on the back of their three-point shooting and McCollum would fit right in.

Stephen Curry is coming off an incredible season and Klay Thompson will be back in the fold after suffering a second consecutive season-ending injury. Adding another dynamic talent on the perimeter to go along with the “Splash Brothers” could go a long way in helping the Warriors to return to prominence.

CJ McCollum going to Golden State would certainly shake things up in the Western Conference. Let’s take a look at how this could happen in the offseason.
