Marvin Bagley III

Entering the offseason, there are multiple teams that could be sellers on the NBA trade market. Among those teams, the Sacramento Kings could have some enticing pieces to offer teams in exchange for future assets. Buddy Hield and Harrison Barnes are names to watch when the offseason officially gets underway.

Along with Hield and Barnes, the Kings could make Marvin Bagley III available for the right price. Bagley was involved in the star-studded 2018 NBA Draft class that featured Trae Young, Luka Doncic, and Deandre Ayton. But with Bagley being taken one pick ahead of Doncic, and three picks ahead of Young, there were lofty expectations for him to deliver in Sacramento.

It’s fair to say that the Kings aren’t exactly a team that has done well at developing their talent from within. Also, Marvin Bagley III has experienced injury woes in his first three seasons, limiting the amount of time he’s able to see the floor.

Even though Marvin Bagley III still has room for growth, the Kings are set on building around De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton in the backcourt. While Sacramento wishes they could go back and take one of Doncic or Young in the 2018 NBA Draft, trading Bagley makes sense for both sides.
