Does this trade make sense for the Washington Wizards?
Deni Avdija is a player that Washington is extremely high on and Rui Hachimura has been a really strong third scoring option for the Wizards over the years, but adding Christian Wood to this team makes them 1000% better. Not only could he be that third, key guy that they need, but his versatility to be a power-forward or a center gives Washington everything they need in their frontcourt.

Wood signed with the Rockets when James Harden and Russell Westbrook were still members of the Rockets and he could have a desire to play with Westbrook still. Being on the receiving end of lobs and pick-and-roll sets would do wonders for Wood as he progresses in his career and there is no better player to be running these plays with than someone like Westbrook.
At just 25-years-old, Christian Wood is one of the most valuable young frontcourt players in the league right now, which is why this trade makes complete sense for the Wizards. Quite honestly, it looks too good to be true for Washington, which is why it ultimately will not happen.
Houston is rebuilding, but they are not going to give up one of their best players, especially when he is one of the faces of their rebuild! It would take a lot for Houston to give up Christian Wood, which is why the Wizards should focus their attention on other potential trade targets in the offseason.
