Does this trade make sense for the Brooklyn Nets?
Both Nic Claxton and Landry Shamet are nothing more than role players on the bench for the Nets, so why not trade them both and upgrade what they have at the center position? Brooklyn’s one flaw all year long is that they have not been the best team on the interior and have lacked size at the center position.

Both Jeff Green and Blake Griffin split time being the “center” on the Nets with Claxton being a bigger bodied guy they can turn to, which is why they could have a use for someone like Chris Boucher.
Not only did he average a career-best 6.7 rebounds per game with the Raptors this season, but Boucher proved that he is more than a back-to-the-basket big man. Given his length and athleticism, Chris Boucher is a factor blocking shots, disrupting passing lanes and he can even knock down shots from the perimeter, which is exactly what Brooklyn is looking for in a center.
The lengthy 6’9” 28-year-old does not have much NBA experience, but he is primed to be a factor for any team he is on moving forward. Chris Boucher can be a real difference-maker for the Brooklyn Nets next season, which is why giving up Claxton and Shamet for him makes complete sense.
