Talen Horton-Tucker

Convincing big-time free agents to go to Orlando has always been difficult for the franchise. Even when they land stars in the draft, they almost always end up leaving. So, they have to get creative. One way is taking chances on players with huge upsides, such as Talen Horton-Tucker.

Horton-Tucker is oozing with potential, which he flashes whenever he gets an extended opportunity with the Los Angeles Lakers. With Los Angeles having championship aspirations, there haven’t been many chances for THT to showcase his skills and develop, but a team like Orlando should be willing to take a shot that he can realize his potential.

His per-36 minute stats of 16.2 points, 5.0 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals show just how much potential he has. While his shooting needs some refining, he has shown that he can put the ball in the basket and be a capable playmaker as well.

Talen Horton-Tucker also fits the timeline in Orlando, as he won’t be 21 until November 25th this year. Orlando should aggressively pursue him in restricted free agency, but this is a player that the Lakers wouldn’t include in Kyle Lowry trade talks, so they think highly of him as well.
