Why This Trade Makes Perfect Sense For The Celtics
Boston has to make some kind of major move this offseason, but they aren’t going to move either Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown. They need to bring in more depth and this trade would accomplish that. All three of these players would be quality additions for the Celtics.
Coby White is just 21 years old and is fresh off of a second season in the NBA that saw him average 15.1 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game. He has the potential to be a better fit than Kemba Walker for the Celtics and he could make a very similar impact. His shooting needs to get more consistent, but he would be a solid addition.
In addition to bringing in a very talented guard to replace Walker, the Celtics would be getting two valuable role players to bring off the bench. Tomas Satoransky is the definition of a solid backup guard, while Al-Farouq Aminu has a long history of being able to play good defense.
Trading Walker has to be a priority for the Celtics this offseason. He is too expensive for the role he has played and his chemistry with the top two stars on the roster isn’t great. If this kind of trade presents itself, Boston should be all over it.
