Buddy Hield was a hot name in trade rumors last NBA offseason, but the Sacramento Kings decided to hold onto him and keep him for the 2020-21 season. Now, the rumors are starting back up and the sharpshooting guard could end up being on the move. One team to keep an eye on could be the Los Angeles Clippers, who could look to add more firepower for their offense.

Paul George and Kawhi Leonard have the Clippers in the second round of the NBA Playoffs right now, but they could always use more help. Adding elite shooting around them is always a good move to make.

During the 2020-21 NBA season with the Kings, Hield put together another good year. He averaged 16.6 points per game to go along with 4.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists. In addition to those averages, he shot 40.6 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 39.1 percent of his three-point attempts.

At 28 years of age, Hield is still very much in his prime and would be a valuable addition for anyone who ends up trading for him. He can create his own shot, spot up and hit the three-point looks, and while he isn’t a great defender, he isn’t horrible either. Los Angeles would be wise to look into what it would take to acquire him.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at how the Clippers could pull off a trade with the Kings to place Buddy Hield alongside George and Leonard.
