For the first-time since 2010, the Phoenix Suns made the playoffs and not only did they make the playoffs, but they took down the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James in the first-round of the playoffs. Now, the Suns will take on the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals with a trip to Western Conference Finals on the line.

Led by Chris Paul and Devin Booker, this Suns team is one of the most well-balanced teams in the league, being one of four teams (Bucks, Jazz, Clippers & Suns) to finish the year inside the Top-10 in both offensive and defensive rating.

Who knows if they will be able to advance far in the playoffs this year and potentially win the Western Conference, but regardless of what happens in the playoffs, the Suns will be looking for ways to add more talent to their roster in the offseason.

Cameron Payne has emerged as a key role player off-the-bench in the playoffs for the Suns and Cameron Johnson has also played well as a sharpshooting wing off-the-bench, but Phoenix could definitely improve their overall bench talent. This year, they really only played 8-9 guys deep in games and in the playoffs, they have narrowed down their rotation really to just 7-8 guys.

Depth could absolutely be an area that the Suns look to upgrade in the offseason, which is why Davis Bertans is a guy they could potentially look to target to upgrade their three-point shooting. Washington is going to be looking for ways to bring in more talent to pair with Westbrook and Beal in the offseason, which is why they could be interested in trading away Bertans, who is owed $65M through the next four seasons.

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report came up with the following offseason trade scenario between the Suns and Wizards that involves Davis Bertans going to Phoenix.
