Dallas Mavericks Receive: F Kevin Knox II

New York Knicks Receive: G Trey Burke, 2021 2nd Round Pick

Kevin Knox II came into the league with great expectations but has not lived up to his report of being an incredible athlete with a good jump shot. He is likely to be the biggest trade piece on the Knicks because teams will be able to get him for cheap and could view him as a player to develop.

There is still plenty of time for Knox to take that next step. it’s just clear he’s never going to be a dynamic threat. He needs to carve out a complementary role on a team that has a high-level facilitator and the Mavericks have Luka Doncic to achieve that.

The Mavericks could be one of the teams where Knox feels less pressure and can learn from one of the best guards in the league. Meanwhile, Trey Burke and a second-round pick would be the return here. This would be Burke’s second stint with the Knicks.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this deal would benefit both sides right away.
