Kemba Walker
The Boston Celtics had a down season and an overhaul of the leadership has already begun. Between former President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge stepping down and former head coach Brad Stevens switching roles into the front office, it’s already been quite a mix-up. Could a Kemba Walker trade be next on the horizon?

According to Jared Weiss of The Athletic, multiple front-office sources made it clear that Kemba Walker has ‘negative trade value’ and that it would require ‘extra picks or assets’ in order to move him via trade.
“Multiple front-office sources across the NBA told The Athletic this week they still view Walker as having negative trade value should the team decide to go that route this offseason. That likely means a trade would cost the Celtics extra picks or assets to offload, even if Walker is universally admired for his relentlessly positive attitude and hard work through injury.”
It’s not easy to move a big contract, especially when it’s for a smaller guard who is already 31-years-old, so it’s absolutely logical that Boston would need to treat Kemba Walker as a negative trade asset. This will make it all the more challenging to move him this offseason.
Verdict: Buying that Kemba Walker could get moved and is a negative trade asset…
