Collin Sexton
The lone remaining component of the Kyrie Irving trade, Collin Sexton, has been featured in numerous NBA trade rumors over the last year. Despite posting averages of 24.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 2020-21, there is still uncertainty about his place with the organization long-term.

According to Terry Pluto of The Plain Dealer, numerous sources have expressed to him that Collin Sexton likely is to be traded since the Cavaliers would cripple their salary cap situation by giving long-term deals to him and Jarrett Allen.
“Two NBA people I respect suggest the Cavs trade Collin Sexton. One likes him a lot, one is lukewarm. But their point is the team should only sign Allen (a restricted free agent) to a $100 million deal. Because of the Love contract, the Cavs can’t pay Allen and Sexton tons of cash without crushing the salary cap.”
There isn’t much point in paying big money to keep a mediocre team together. However, in a guard driven league, it appears to be a genuine mistake to favor paying a non-elite big man like Jarrett Allen a huge deal while actively worsening the scoring potential of their backcourt by moving on from Collin Sexton. While I may disagree with the line of thinking, it doesn’t mean the Cavaliers aren’t thinking about doing it.
Verdict: Buying that Collin Sexton could get traded…
