The Los Angeles Lakers were the seventh seed in the Western Conference, but it still felt like a slight shock to see them eliminated in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Most of Los Angeles’ problems down the stretch can be attributed to injuries that slowed down LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Kuzma was a first-round pick of the Lakers back in the 2017 NBA Draft out of Utah. Coming out of college, Kuzma was known for his abilities on the offensive end, with his defense needing some work. The same could likely be said about Kuzma in 2021 and he has failed to show the consistency that the Lakers were hoping to see by now.

Nevertheless, Los Angeles handed Kuzma a three-year, $39 million extension after winning the NBA title last season. But there’s a chance that Kuzma isn’t on the Lakers to see the end — or even the start — of his extension.
