Dallas Mavericks

Besides the Raptors, the Dallas Mavericks were another team that were reportedly in the Andre Drummond sweepstakes earlier this season. The Mavericks have been searching desperately for a center to pair with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis in recent seasons.

It remains to be seen if Dallas still views Porzingis as a franchise cornerstone amid the injury woes he’s experienced. There’s a chance that the Mavericks trade Porzingis this offseason, allowing them to take a new approach to the roster, or they will look to pair a center with him in the frontcourt.

With a few pieces missing from the roster before they become title contenders, adding Drummond could be what Dallas is looking for in a center. Having someone that can operate down low in the paint could add another wrinkle to the offense of the Mavericks.

While Drummond doesn’t have the best hands for a big man, he’s capable of catching lob passes or rolling toward the basket, where Doncic could excel. Depending on what Dallas does with Porzingis and other players on the roster this offseason, the Mavericks could have room to add Drummond into the fold.
