Oklahoma City Thunder

There isn’t a team that has taken a more “let’s blow it up” stance than the Oklahoma City Thunder. Following a season where Chris Paul led them to an improbable playoff run in 2019-2020, the Thunder traded Paul, Dennis Schroder, Steven Adams, and Danilo Gallinari. As a result, Oklahoma City finished with a 22-50 record this season, which was tied for the fourth-worst record in the NBA.

Besides Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort, and Darius Bazley, the Thunder have an endless list of needs on the roster. The center position should be a priority for Oklahoma City, especially with Al Horford likely on his way out this offseason. So why would the Thunder spend valuable money on someone like Andre Drummond?

It’s evident that Oklahoma City isn’t close to be a contending roster, and they’ll have to use a specific amount of their cap space this offseason. Signing Drummond to a one-year deal to fill the team’s need at center wouldn’t be the worst idea.

As for Drummond, being able to have a large role on a team like the Thunder could give him another chance to prove that he can still be productive in the right situation.
