Does this trade make sense for the LA Clippers?

If the LA Clippers were to acquire DeMar DeRozan at the expense of Ivica Zubac, Luke Kennard, Marcus Morris Sr. and Patrick Beverley, I think this would be a fantastic move for them because they are not really giving up too much talent.

Out of those four guys they would have to give up, Marcus Morris Sr. is their best offensive player of that group, but DeRozan’s production would be much greater than Morris’. Losing Zubac would hurt the Clippers down-low, but they do still have Serge Ibaka under-contract and they could re-sign DeMarcus Cousins should they choose.

Bringing DeMar DeRozan home to Los Angeles should definitely be a priority for the Clippers in the offseason, especially since they seem like they are still a piece away from being a true championship team. The Lakers are always finding ways to get better and the Clippers are always left in the dust, which is why they have to be willing to take risks and make moves like this potential trade in the offseason.

Executing a sign-and-trade for DeRozan would absolutely limit what the Clippers can do financially for at least the next 4-5 years, but this move gives them 3 legit All-Stars and they can find veteran talents to surround them with.

Serge Ibaka and Rajon Rondo would still be under-contract, as well as Terance Mann, which is why the Los Angeles Clippers should do everything they can to try and pull off a shocking sign-and-trade for DeMar DeRozan this summer.
