Miami Heat
It was quite a disappointing season for the Miami Heat in 2020-2021 after Erik Spoelstra’s group advanced to the NBA Finals last season. The Heat were swept in the first round by the new-look Milwaukee Bucks, making them the only team in the association to be swept this postseason.
Amid Miami’s lopsided defeat against Milwaukee, it showed that Pat Riley had some work to do to put together a dominant roster again.
Aside from Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, the Heat lack guys that can consistently give them production on the offensive end. Goran Dragic is a nice option on the offensive end at times, but there are other times where he can go cold. Tyler Herro has the potential to become a go-to scorer for Miami, but he still has quite a ways to go before that transpires — if ever.

With the Heat in win-now mode, signing Derrick Rose would give them a grizzled veteran that would immediately buy into their selfless team culture. At the same time, adding Rose would give Miami an efficient three-point scorer (has shot 37+ percent from three-point range in two out of the past three seasons), which is something that they’ve lacked outside of Duncan Robinson.
