Add shooting depth on the bench
Ultimately, the biggest move the Celtics need to make in the offseason is to add better shooting depth and bench depth to their roster. The Celtics bench was one of the worst in the league this season and they are not going to get better overnight.

Evan Fournier could opt out of his contract and become a free agent, which may seem like a bad thing for the Celtics since they just traded for him at the trade deadline, but losing Fournier opens up some cap space for Boston to play around with.
Again, the Celtics would probably want to keep Fournier, but him opting out and Boston looking to use this extra cap space/MLE is definitely a possibility for them to play around with in free agency this year.
Overall, with not much cap space, the Celtics will need to find some veteran shooters that they can sign to minimum contracts or they will need to make some smaller trades in order to bring in more reliable bench depth.
Their current bench is not a championship contending bench and will hold them back once again next year if they do not make any significant moves. Boston is definitely not far off from making it back to the NBA Finals, especially with Jayson Tatum becoming one of the best players in the league, but they need to have more reliable secondary options to turn to for production.
