Go after one of the better centers in the league
The Celtics have a really strong starting rotation and have three All-Star level talents in Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, but they could look to improve their frontcourt in the offseason. Tristan Thompson has done his job at the center position this season and Robert Williams has emerged as a really solid option for them, but if they were to add one of the better centers in the league, then it could elevate them to a new level.

One name that makes a lot of sense for the Celtics is Jonas Valanciunas. This year with the Grizzlies, Valanciunas has been a force for them in the paint and finished as one of the league’s best rebounders during the regular season, which is why he could make a big impact with the Celtics.
Another name that could be available via trade this offseason at the center position that could make an impact on the Celtics is Myles Turner. Not only is he one of the best shot-blockers in the league, but he has proven to be a force in pick-and-roll sets; being able to step out on the perimeter and knock down open jumpers.
With some trade exceptions, draft assets and some tradeable contracts, the Celtics have the ability to pull off a trade for one of the better centers in the league, it is just a matter of if they can convince opposing teams to listen to their trade offers.
