Clint Capela is the Hawks’ franchise center and he obtains the vast majority of the minutes from the center position. Onyeka Okongwu is listed as the number two center on the depth chart, but adding a pair of solid players in Derrick White and Jakob Poeltl could be hard for the team to pass up on.
Derrick White is a sharp shooting shooting guard for the Spurs who could give Trae Young a more consistent weapon alongside him and Kevin Huerter. Jakob Poeltl is a veteran center who has what it takes to be a more reliable number two center behind Capela, and the Hawks need stability throughout their team.
This trade could make a lot of sense for the Hawks, who are looking to stay in the upper tier of the Eastern Conference for the next few years. Having an overwhelming amount of talent around Trae Young is crucial in order to take on the elite teams of the Eastern Conference.
