Why this trade would make sense for the New York Knicks

The New York Knicks would land a pair of polarizing players to their staff without having to give up much in return. Lonzo Ball would be the franchise point guard the Knicks have been in need of all year while the addition of Jaxson Hayes gives them a potential upgrade at the center position as well.

Lonzo Ball is obviously the star of this deal, and considering the fact that it would take a sign-and-trade for this to even happen, he would likely be under contract for the long-term.

Ball is one of the best defensive point guards in the league and he has also established himself as one of the best passers in the NBA as well. He would fit in nicely under the defense oriented mentality that Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau has instilled and succeeded with in New York.

Ball was mentioned in NBA trade rumors as potentially being dealt away at the NBA trade deadline this past season, but no deal ever came to fruition. If things go this way this upcoming offseason, we could see him dealt to a promising team in New York in just a few months time.
