Does this trade make sense for the Dallas Mavericks?

Over the years, there have been a lot of talks about Buddy Hield being frustrated in Sacramento and can we really blame him? Every year, they are one of the teams everybody laughs about in the NBA and while they have improved by getting guys like Fox and Haliburton, they are still far away from being anything real in the Western Conference.

Now being 28-years-old and in the peak of his career, Buddy Hield may want to go somewhere where he has a legit chance of winning and making the playoffs, which is why the Mavericks could be intrigued about the opportunity of adding him to their rotation.

Dallas ranked 18th in the league during the regular season in three-point percentage and with Tim Hardway Jr. set to be an unrestricted free agent as said earlier, the Mavericks will need to address the wing this offseason and look to add more shooters for Doncic to play around with on offense.

Buddy Hield is the perfect guy to add to this Mavericks’ offense and even if they re-sign Hardaway Jr., both he and Hield could play alongside each other quite well. Having two high volume three-point threats with a dominant player like Luka Doncic could be a great move for the Mavs, which is why this trade definitely makes sense for them.

They get out of a bad contract on their end with Dwight Powell and while they would be tied down to Buddy Hield long-term, they know what they would be getting with him offensively, which is all they can ask for at this point given how inconsistent they have been on offense all year long.
