Denver Nuggets Receive: G Kyle Lowry (via sign-and-trade)
Toronto Raptors Receive: G/F Will Barton, G Monte Morris, DEN 2024 2nd Round Pick
This is definitely a trade that would have to be talked through for a long period of time on both sides, and there is a possibility that other teams would have to be involved, but a sign-and-trade for Lowry is definitely a possibility for Denver.
They drew the 3-seed in the playoffs this year and are fighting against the Portland Trail Blazers in the first-round, but it still seems like this team is one piece away from being a true title contender. They made the Western Conference Finals last year and without Jamal Murray this year, it seems like they will fall short of making the NBA Finals once again.

Denver is on the doorstep of being something special, which is why they need a veteran All-Star like Kyle Lowry to run the point for them. Given his experiences and his play style, he would fit right in with the Nuggets system and be a key contributor for them, especially with Jamal Murray out.
Will Barton and Monte Morris would be two key pieces for Toronto to add to their roster in return for trading Lowry and quite honestly, this is a pretty good return for the Raptors. Monte Morris is a young, athletic guard that could replace Lowry in the rotations next to Fred VanVleet and with no Nroman Powell anymore, Will Baton would fill a void on the wing for the Raptors, should he opt into his player option for the 2021-22 season.

Depending on what type of contract is negotiated for Lowry, Denver may have to include more talent in this trade or get a third party involved in order to acquire Lowry and his big contract, but at the end of the day, the Nuggets need more talent and this trade can give them exactly what they need to be a true championship contender.
With that said, let’s dive in and breakdown this trade proposal from each team’s point of view to truly see if this is something that both the Nuggets and Raptors should be interested in this offseason.
