Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?

Quite honestly, Joe Harris would be a nice addition on the wing in terms of shooting for the Pacers, but they would lose a lot by trading Myles Turner and not getting a big haul in return. If the Pacers traded Turner in this deal, they would be left with Domantas Sabonis, Nic Claxton and Goga Bitadze as options at the center position, which is not ideal.

Indiana upgrades their three-point shooting in this deal drastically and they add a young, raw big man in Nicolas Claxton, but at the end of the day, they do not really gain anything that puts them in the playoffs by making this trade with Brooklyn.

If the Pacers are going to explore options to trade Myles Turner this offseason, they can receive much more compensation and even first-round draft pick(s) from other teams not named the Nets. If Turner hits the market, he will be one of the most sought after trade targets during this summer and the Pacers will be able to control all of the trade packages that come their way.

Getting a one or two first-round picks, as well as a young frontcourt talent for Myles Turner would definitely be a much better option for the Pacers than looking to make this trade with the Nets, which is why this trade proposal does not make much sense for them.
