Brooklyn Nets Receive: C Myles Turner
Indiana Pacers Receive: G/F Joe Harris, C Nicolas Claxton
With Durant, Irving and Harden all under contract for the Nets, Brooklyn does not have virtually any cap space to pull off big trades, which is why they would have to part ways with Joe Harris to make this trade for Myles Turner work.
Joe Harris is set to make $17.3M next season and with Myles Turner making $17.5M, the contracts would equal out for the Nets to be able to pull off a trade of this caliber. Brooklyn cannot sign anybody big in free agency, but by making a trade of equal contracts, they could look to upgrade their frontcourt depth with Turner at the expense of Harris.

The Nets are definitely the most talented team in the NBA this season and Joe Harris has been a big part of their success outside of the Nets’ “Big 3.” On the season, Harris averaged 14.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and shot 47.5% from three-point range, which was the best three-point shooting percentage in the league.
Nicolas Claxton is another interesting name involved in this trade package for Myles Turner. Brooklyn is high on what the young big man can give them moving forward and this year, he has stepped up at times when they were without DeAndre Jordan or Jeff Green in the frontcourt.
Moving forward, Claxton could easily develop into a more polished big man offensively, but defensively, he is very raw right now and has the tools to be a factor on both ends rebounding. Joe Harris and Nic Claxton are two key pieces for the Nets, but does trading for Myles Turner truly make them better?
Let’s take a look at this trade from each team’s perspective and truly see if this trade makes sense for both the Nets and Pacers to make in the offseason.
