Does this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?
Quite honestly, the Raptors should not enter a complete rebuild, but if they do, they could definitely get more value for Pascal Siakam than the Charlotte Hornets could give them in this trade. Getting another lottery pick in this year’s draft would be nice for the Raptors, but they would definitely prefer getting more draft compensation than a player like Vernon Carey Jr.
They do need to address their frontcourt, but Chris Boucher is still going to be under contract and they will likely explore bringing back Khem Birch, who was fantastic for them after being waived by the Orlando Magic.
P.J. Washington is a nice addition for the Raptors to fill the void Siakam would leave behind, but Toronto would probably want at least two first-round picks in any trade discussions around Pascal Siakam.

He is their best player and pretty much their only viable frontcourt option right now, so if they were to trade him, they would want a ton in return since he is their face of the franchise right now alongside Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry.
Change is on the horizon for the Raptors and they will be the center of attention for many offseason moves this summer, but trading Pascal Siakam may not be the most reasonable thing for them to do right this minute. In the meantime, keeping tabs on NBA trade rumors can help shed insight into what may occur.
